After experiencing three consecutive, deeply challenging DNFs at the iconic 89km Comrades Marathon, I crossed the finish line on my fourth attempt. This process involved a complete restructuring of my mental approach—learning to treat massive races as training runs to lift off intense pressure, and welcoming the “pain cave” instead of fighting it. I documented this raw physical and emotional journey to show that setbacks are simply lessons in pacing, prep, and mindset.
